Is the Fiido Nomads Pro road-legal in Ireland?
Yes. It's a true pedelec with a 250 W nominal motor, pedal-assist only (no throttle) and assistance that cuts off at 25 km/h, so it meets the EU pedelec (EPAC) standard and is treated like a bicycle in Ireland — no tax, insurance or licence needed. It's also eligible for the Bike to Work Scheme.
What range can I really expect?
Up to 75 km from a single 417.6 Wh battery, and up to around 225 km with the patented 1+2 expandable battery rack carrying two extra batteries. Real-world range depends on rider and cargo weight, terrain, wind, temperature and which assist mode you use.
How is the Pro different from the standard Fiido Nomads?
The Pro uses a mid-drive motor with 100 Nm of torque (versus the standard Nomads' 45 Nm rear-hub motor), a 120 mm air suspension fork instead of an oil-spring fork, and 4-piston hydraulic brakes for stronger stopping power — making it better suited to steep climbs and demanding mixed terrain.
How long does the battery take to charge?
Around 6 hours for a full charge. The battery is removable with a dual-latch security system, so you can lift it out and charge it indoors.
Will it handle rough trails and wet Irish weather?
Yes. The 29″ × 2.1″ CST hybrid tyres, 120 mm air suspension fork and HDM-5 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes handle road, gravel and trail, and the IP54 rating shrugs off rain and splashes. Avoid fully submerging it.
What rider heights does it fit, and can it carry a passenger or cargo?
It comes in Medium (170–190 cm) and Large (180–200 cm) frame sizes with an adjustable stem and saddle. Maximum load is 120 kg, and it supports pet, child and cargo trailers plus a rear rack for panniers and bags.
