E-Bike & E-Scooter Locks

E-bikes and electric scooters are a target, and a cheap cable lock on its own will not stop a thief. These are the locks we trust and use ourselves: hardened U-locks and chain locks for city-centre and overnight parking, and lighter combination locks for quick stops.

Popular e-bike and e-scooter locks

• U-Lock by Inner City Scooters — hardened steel shackle, our everyday recommendation for e-bikes, from €50
• Heavy Duty Chain Lock — 1 m chain with fabric sleeve, locks to railings and bike stands, from €49
• Engwe Bike Lock — sized for Engwe fat-tyre e-bikes and frames, from €50
• Inner City Combination Lock — light cable lock for the shop or café stop, no key to lose, from €19
• Engwe Rider Safety Bundle — helmet, lock and phone mount in one, from €60

Why buy locks from Inner City Scooters

We see what gets stolen and what does not. Our advice is simple: lock through the frame to something solid, use two different lock types, and add a Smart Tag GPS tracker so you can locate the bike if it does go. Everything is in stock in Dublin and ships across Ireland and the EU.

E-bike and e-scooter locks — FAQs

Which lock is best for an e-bike?

A hardened U-lock through the frame and rear wheel is the best single lock. Add a chain or cable for the front wheel if the bike is left outside for long periods.

Can I lock an electric scooter?

Yes. Fold the scooter and put a U-lock or chain through the folding hinge or the frame, then lock it to a fixed object. Combination locks suit short stops.

Is a lock enough on its own?

No lock is unbreakable. Insurance, a GPS tracker and indoor storage overnight make a big difference. See our Smart Tag GPS tracker for live location on your phone.

Do you deliver locks outside Dublin?

Yes. Locks ship across Ireland and the EU, or collect from Unit 19B, Fashion City, Dublin 24.
