Retro soul, smart ride
Classic elegance meets modern efficiency. The M9 keeps you cool, composed and completely in control — a proper fat-tyre cruiser with a two-person seat, front rack and full lighting, backed by the kind of range that lets you commute all week on one charge.
250W high-speed brushless motor
Smooth and reliable: a BAFANG 250W high-speed brushless rear-hub motor with 5-level pedal assist and a sinusoidal-wave controller for a smoother ride and smarter power delivery — fully EU-compliant at 25 km/h.
Dual battery, greater range
Two 48V 17.5Ah Samsung 21700 batteries (1680Wh combined) offer around 6% higher energy density than 18650 cells for extended range and power. Quick-release design lifts each pack out for charging indoors, and the IPX6 rating keeps them reliable in all weather.
NFC unlocking mode
Say goodbye to traditional keys. The M9 comes with NFC unlocking — a simple tap of the supplied card on the display is all it takes to power up your ride.
Intelligent burglar alarm
The M9 is equipped with a smart anti-theft alarm system. The moment someone tries to move or tamper with your bike, a powerful alarm sounds instantly.
Left / right turn signals
Bright, visible indicators are built into the frame front and rear. With a simple press you can clearly show drivers and pedestrians which way you're turning — and a brake light tells traffic behind when you're stopping.
Type-C fast charging & phone mount
The M9 comes equipped with a Type-C charging port and a built-in phone mount, so your phone stays topped up for navigation on longer rides.

Pedal-assist levels, speed and range
Five assist levels let you trade speed for range. The figures below are Pixar's own test results with an 80 kg rider on flat roads; expect a practical everyday range of around 100–130 km in Irish conditions with hills, wind and higher assist levels.
| PAS level | Average speed | Range |
|---|---|---|
| PAS 1 | 10 km/h | 240 km |
| PAS 2 | 14 km/h | 196 km |
| PAS 3 | 18 km/h | 148 km |
| PAS 4 | 22 km/h | 124 km |
| PAS 5 | 25 km/h | 100 km |
Results obtained with a rider weighing 80 kg in a flat road environment at 33 °C. Cruising range varies with riding conditions, rider weight, terrain and temperature.

FAQ about the Pixar M9 Electric Bike
Is the Pixar M9 road-legal in Ireland?
Yes. With a 250W motor and pedal assistance that cuts off at 25 km/h, the M9 meets the EU pedelec (EPAC / EN 15194) standard, so ridden in pedal-assist it is treated like a regular bicycle in Ireland — no tax, insurance, licence or registration needed. The throttle is a 6 km/h walk-assist only. Wear a helmet and use the lights after dark.
How far does the Pixar M9 really go on a charge?
The two 48V 17.5Ah Samsung batteries give 1680Wh combined. Pixar's own testing shows 240 km in PAS 1 (10 km/h average) down to 100 km in PAS 5 (25 km/h) with an 80 kg rider on flat roads. In everyday Irish riding with hills and wind, plan on around 100–130 km — still enough for a week of commuting.
How long does it take to charge?
Each battery charges from empty in roughly 5–7.5 hours with the supplied 54.6V 2A smart charger. Both packs are quick-release, so you can lift them out and charge indoors. Avoid charging in direct sunlight or very hot conditions, and keep the bike out of the rain while a battery is removed because the controller sits under the battery mount.
How does NFC unlocking work?
Instead of a key, you tap the supplied NFC card on the display and the bike powers up in about half a second. It is backed by a 100 dB anti-theft alarm that triggers the moment someone moves or tampers with the bike, plus four physical keys for the battery locks.
Can two people ride the Pixar M9?
Yes — the M9 has a long two-person faux-leather seat and rear passenger footpegs. Stay within the 120 kg maximum load, take extra care with the heavier, longer load, and check local rules before carrying a passenger on public roads.
Is the M9 OK in Irish rain?
Yes. The bike is rated IP54 and the battery and display are IPX6, so rain, splashes and wet roads are fine. Avoid deep water and jet-washing, and dry the bike off before storing it.
What height does the Pixar M9 suit?
Pixar recommends riders from 160 cm to 200 cm. The seat height is 84 cm and the handlebar height 120 cm, giving a relaxed, upright cruiser position. You are welcome to try one for size at our Ballymount showroom in Dublin.
Does the M9 need assembly?
It arrives mostly built — fit the front wheel, pedals, handlebar and front bracket using the supplied toolkit, following the assembly video above. If you prefer, our Dublin workshop can assemble and safety-check the bike before collection or delivery.
Is the Pixar M9 eligible for the Bike to Work scheme?
Yes. At under the €1,500 e-bike limit and with EU pedelec compliance, the M9 qualifies for the Irish Bike to Work scheme. Contact us for an invoice or quote for your employer.
What warranty, delivery and finance do you offer?
The M9 comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, backed by after-sales support, spares and servicing at Inner City Scooters in Dublin. Delivery is free across Ireland, usually within a few working days, with shipping available to the EU, and you can spread the cost with 0% finance options such as Klarna and humm at checkout, subject to approval.
