Engwe EP-2 Pro Folding Fat Tyre Electric Bike
The Engwe EP-2 Pro is the folding fat tyre electric bike that goes wherever the ride starts, in a car boot or on a trail. A 250W brushless motor delivers 55Nm of torque up to the road-legal 25km/h EU limit, and the removable 48V 13Ah battery is rated at up to 120km in pedal assist. 20" x 4.0" Chaoyang fat tyres on one-piece alloy wheels, an adjustable lockable front fork and a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain cover sand, gravel, forest track and wet Dublin tarmac alike, and the alloy frame folds in three steps. Up to 120km on a Charge
Engwe rates the 48V 13Ah removable battery at up to 120km in pedal-assist mode and around 40km on the throttle alone, measured with a 75kg rider on asphalt. Real numbers depend on rider weight, assist level, hills, wind and temperature, so treat those as best-case figures rather than an everyday guarantee.
Adjustable Front Suspension
The lockable front fork soaks up rough ground off-road and firms up for efficient pedalling on smooth tarmac. Combined with four-inch tyres it handles sand, gravel, dirt and snow without complaint.
20" x 4.0" All-Terrain Fat Tyres
The wide Chaoyang tyres spread the load and smooth out what the suspension does not, so trails, broken road and loose surfaces all feel more stable than they should on a folding bike.
One-Piece Alloy Wheels
Cast one-piece wheels replace spokes and nipples, so there is nothing to true, nothing to tension and one less thing to go out of shape after a kerb strike.
Headlight, Brake Light and Reflective Stripes
An LED headlight for the road ahead, a rear brake light that actually brightens when you pull the levers, and reflective stripes on the tyre walls. On a dark Irish evening that is a meaningful difference.
Folds in Three Steps
Frame, handlebars and pedals all fold, bringing the EP-2 Pro down to 99 x 55 x 76cm. That fits a car boot, a camper or a hall press. It weighs 30kg, so it is a two-handed lift, and taking the battery out first helps.
Effortless City Cruising
Five pedal-assist levels and three riding modes mean you can dial the power back for a relaxed commute or wind it up for a headwind. The rear rack takes panniers or a bag for the shopping.
