Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 Full-Suspension Folding Electric Bike

The Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 is a full-suspension folding fat tyre electric bike built for riders who want one bike for the commute, the campsite and the trail. A magnesium alloy integrated hub motor delivers 75Nm of torque through a genuine torque sensor, assisting to the road-legal 25km/h EU limit, while a removable 768Wh 16Ah battery returns up to 110km per charge. Hydraulic disc brakes, a Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain and 20" x 4.0" puncture-resistant fat tyres handle Irish weather and road surfaces, and the whole bike folds in three steps and about ten seconds to drop into a car boot or camper. Available in Space Black, Midnight Blue and Mountain Green at Inner City Scooters, Dublin.

Your Durable Wilderness Companion

A torque sensor, full suspension, hydraulic braking and a folding 6061 aluminium frame, in a bike that still meets the EU pedelec rules for Irish roads and greenways.

Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 magnesium alloy hub motor with 75Nm torque

Upgraded Power, 75Nm of Torque

Engwe rates the Engine Pro 2.0 at 75Nm, roughly 50 percent more pulling power than the 55Nm generation before it. That is what you feel on a loaded climb or pulling away from a standstill at a junction, with gradients of up to 10 degrees handled comfortably.

Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 torque sensor delivering instant assistance on loose ground

Torque Sensor, No Start Delay

A torque sensor reads how hard you are actually pedalling rather than simply detecting that the cranks are turning, so assistance arrives the moment you push. It feels natural, it is kinder to the battery, and it makes slow-speed control much easier in traffic.

Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 768Wh 16Ah battery range comparison up to 110km

768Wh Battery, Up to 110km

The removable 16Ah pack is rated at up to 110km in assist level 1. It lifts out with a key so you can charge it indoors, and a full charge takes around 5.5 hours. Real-world range depends on rider weight, assist level, hills and temperature, so treat 110km as the best case.

Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 hydraulic disc braking on descending terrain

Full Suspension and Hydraulic Braking

Front fork and rear shock work together to cut roughly 87 percent of bumps by Engwe's measure, and upgraded 160mm hydraulic disc brakes give precise, quick-responding stopping power. On a wet Irish descent, that combination is the difference between confident and cautious.

Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 folded and loaded into a vehicle

Compact Design, Boundless Adventures

Three quick steps and about ten seconds gets the Engine Pro 2.0 down to 104 x 55 x 84cm, small enough for a car boot, a camper or an SUV. Ideal if the ride starts somewhere other than your front door.

FAQ about the Engwe Engine Pro 2.0 Electric Bike

Is the Engine Pro 2.0 road-legal in Ireland?
Yes. This is the EU version: the motor is rated at 250W and assistance cuts off at 25km/h, which meets the EU pedelec (EPAC) standard, so it is treated like a bicycle in Ireland with no tax, insurance or licence required. Ride it in pedal-assist on public roads; a throttle-driven e-bike is not a pedelec under Irish rules, so keep any throttle use to private land.
What changed from the Engine Pro 1.0?
Engwe's own comparison puts the 2.0 at 75Nm of torque against 55Nm on the 1.0, and swaps the cadence sensor for a torque sensor. Both share the 768Wh 16Ah battery, full suspension, hydraulic brakes and Shimano 8-speed drivetrain. In practice the torque sensor is the bigger day-to-day difference: assistance arrives with your pedal stroke rather than after it.
What is the real-world range?
Engwe rates the 768Wh 16Ah pack at up to 110km in assist level 1. In everyday Irish riding expect roughly 55km to 90km depending on rider weight, assist level, hills, headwind, tyre pressure and temperature. Cold weather and high assist levels cost the most range.
How long does it take to charge?
About 5.5 hours from empty with the supplied charger. The battery lifts out with a key, so you can charge it indoors rather than leaving the bike plugged in outside. Partial top-ups are fine at any time as lithium cells have no memory effect.
How small does it fold, and will it fit in my car?
Folded it measures 104 x 55 x 84cm, and the fold takes three steps and about ten seconds. That fits most estate car and SUV boots, and campers and RVs comfortably. It weighs 31.6kg, so it is a two-handed lift; taking the battery out first makes it easier.
Can I ride it in the rain?
Yes. The Engine Pro 2.0 is rated IPX4 against splashing water, which covers normal Irish rain and wet roads. Avoid submerging the bike or pressure-washing the motor, battery contacts and connectors, and dry the chain and rotors after a wet ride.
Will it fit my height?
Engwe quotes a rider height range of 5'4" to 6'2", roughly 163cm to 188cm. Saddle height adjusts from 86cm to 102cm and the handlebars from 120cm to 130cm, so there is a useful amount of adjustment. Standover height is 69cm and payload capacity is 150kg including rider and luggage.
Are the colours different in any way?
No. Space Black, Midnight Blue and Mountain Green are the same bike with a different finish, with identical motor, battery, brakes and suspension.
How much can the rear rack carry?
The aluminium alloy rear rack is rated to 25kg, which covers a loaded pair of panniers, a week's shopping or camping kit. That 25kg counts towards the bike's 150kg total payload capacity.
Does it come assembled, and how much work is involved?
It arrives largely assembled. You will normally unfold the frame, fit the pedals and front mudguard, then check the brakes and gears. The assembly tool kit is in the box and Engwe's own assembly video is above. Our Dublin workshop can also build and safety-check the bike for you before collection.
Is the Engine Pro 2.0 eligible for the Bike to Work scheme?
Yes. It is a pedelec e-bike and qualifies under the Irish Cycle to Work scheme through Inner City Scooters. Get in touch before you order and we will issue the quotation your employer needs.
Do you deliver, and what warranty comes with it?
Inner City Scooters ships the Engine Pro 2.0 across Ireland and the EU, with tracking as soon as the order is dispatched. In-stock bikes usually arrive within a few working days in Ireland. The bike comes with a manufacturer warranty, and as a Dublin-based store we handle parts, servicing and warranty claims directly rather than sending you overseas.
