Rules depend on the scooter. The Skyblue Beetle holds EEC L6e type approval (light quadricycle) according to the manufacturer, and it is not covered by Ireland's 2024 e-scooter rules. Before using any mobility scooter on public roads, check the registration, motor tax, insurance and licence requirements that apply to you — our team can talk you through it.
How far and how fast can a mobility scooter go?
The Skyblue Beetle has a top speed of 25km/h with lower 10km/h and 15km/h settings, and a range of around 50km per charge. Real-world range depends on rider weight, hills, weather and the speed setting used.
How do I choose the right mobility scooter?
