Velopro M9 Electric Bike — Retro Dual-Battery Fat-Tyre E-Bike
The Velopro M9 (formerly the Pixar M9 — same manufacturer, new name, updated spec) is a retro moped-style, dual-battery electric bike built for comfort, range and everyday practicality. A 250W brushless rear-hub motor, two removable 48V 17.5Ah batteries (1680Wh), full suspension, 20" × 4" Kenda fat tyres, hydraulic disc brakes and an IP65 rating make it one of the most complete urban e-bikes in Ireland at this price. Pedal-assist is capped at 25 km/h, so the M9 is road-legal in Ireland as an e-bike and eligible for the Bike to Work scheme. Available now at Inner City Scooters, Ballymount, Dublin, with free delivery across Ireland and shipping to the EU.

Classic style, modern power

Everything you need, built in
A 48V 35Ah dual battery, 250W motor, full suspension, 20" × 4" fat tyres, hydraulic disc brakes and a smart display with Type-C charging — the essentials for a comfortable, long-range ride.

250W motor — smooth, reliable, effortless
A 48V 250W brushless rear-hub motor with 60 Nm of torque and 5 pedal-assist levels. Assistance cuts off at 25 km/h, so the M9 is a fully EU-compliant pedelec for daily commuting and weekend trails.

35Ah dual battery system
Two 48V 17.5Ah packs give 1,680Wh in total — up to 240 km per charge in PAS 1 (manufacturer test), so you ride further with fewer charges.

Removable battery — charge anywhere
Each battery has a built-in lock and lifts out easily, so you can charge indoors at home or at work rather than wheeling the bike inside.

Full suspension for a smoother ride
A dual-crown front fork with 100 mm of travel and dual rear shock absorbers take the sting out of potholes, kerbs and rough Irish roads.

20" × 4" all-terrain fat tyres
Kenda fat tyres give excellent grip and stability on city roads, gravel, sand and snow — more comfort and more places to ride.

Hydraulic disc brakes
Front and rear hydraulic discs with 180 mm rotors and motor cut-off in both levers give strong, consistent stopping in all conditions.

Smart display — everything at a glance
The multifunction LCD shows speed, battery level, PAS level and trip distance, with a USB Type-C charging port built in.

Shimano 7-speed gear system
Smooth, indexed Shimano shifting (14–28T) to match your riding rhythm on hills, headwinds and flat city streets.

Practical design for everyday use
Front cargo rack, LED headlight, full front and rear fenders, an enclosed chain guard and a long, comfortable two-person seat come as standard.

Charge your phone from the display
Plug your phone into the display's Type-C port and mount it in the supplied handlebar phone holder — handy for navigation on longer rides.

Two colours to match your style
Choose classic black or a lighter grey frame, both with the signature brown two-person seat.
Electronic control configuration

Pedal-assist levels, speed and range
Five assist levels let you trade speed for range. The figures below are Velopro's own test results with an 80 kg rider on flat roads; expect a practical everyday range of around 100–130 km in Irish conditions with hills, wind and higher assist levels.
| PAS level | Average speed | Range |
|---|---|---|
| PAS 1 | 10 km/h | 240 km |
| PAS 2 | 14 km/h | 196 km |
| PAS 3 | 18 km/h | 148 km |
| PAS 4 | 22 km/h | 124 km |
| PAS 5 | 25 km/h | 100 km |
Results obtained with a rider weighing 80 kg in a flat road environment at 33 °C. Cruising range varies with riding conditions, rider weight, terrain and temperature.
Size & fit — Velopro M9 geometry
The M9 is a full-size cruiser with a low, relaxed riding position. Velopro recommends it for riders from 160 cm to 200 cm tall. Overall dimensions are 170 × 68 × 113 cm and the bike weighs 49.5 kg with both batteries fitted (each battery is 5.5 kg and lifts out for charging).

FAQ about the Velopro M9 Electric Bike
Is the Velopro M9 road-legal in Ireland?
Yes. With a 250W motor and pedal assistance that cuts off at 25 km/h, the M9 meets the EU pedelec (EPAC / EN 15194) standard, so ridden in pedal-assist it is treated like a regular bicycle in Ireland — no tax, insurance, licence or registration needed. The throttle is a 6 km/h walk assist only, and there is no speed-unlock.
Is this the same bike as the Pixar M9?
Yes — Pixar e-bikes are now sold under the Velopro name by the same manufacturer. The current M9 batch has an updated spec: it has a key-operated alarm rather than NFC unlocking and no speed-unlock mode, and the front basket is now sold separately.
How far does the Velopro M9 really go on a charge?
The two 48V 17.5Ah batteries give 1680Wh combined. Velopro's testing shows 240 km in PAS 1 down to 100 km in PAS 5 with an 80 kg rider on flat roads. In everyday Irish riding with hills and wind, plan on around 100–130 km.
How long does it take to charge?
Each battery takes roughly 7.5 hours from empty with the supplied 54.6V 2A charger. Both batteries lift out, so you can charge them indoors.
Is the M9 OK in Irish rain?
Yes. The bike is rated IP65, so rain, splashes and wet roads are fine. Avoid deep water and jet-washing, and dry the bike off before storing it.
Can two people ride the Velopro M9?
The M9 has a long two-person saddle and passenger footrests. Stay within the 120 kg maximum load and check local rules before carrying a passenger on public roads.
What height does the Velopro M9 suit?
Velopro recommends riders from 160 cm to 200 cm. The seat height is 84 cm and the handlebar height 120 cm, giving a relaxed, upright cruiser position. Try one for size at our Ballymount showroom in Dublin.
Does the M9 need assembly?
It arrives mostly built — fit the front wheel, handlebar, pedals, front bracket and headlight using the supplied toolkit, following the assembly video above. Our Dublin workshop can assemble and safety-check it for you before collection or delivery.
Is the Velopro M9 eligible for the Bike to Work scheme?
Yes. At under the €1,500 e-bike limit and with EU pedelec compliance, the M9 qualifies for the Irish Bike to Work scheme. Contact us for an invoice or quote for your employer.
What warranty, delivery and finance do you offer?
The M9 comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty, backed by after-sales support, spares and servicing at Inner City Scooters in Dublin. Delivery is free across Ireland, usually within a few working days, with shipping available to the EU, and you can spread the cost with Klarna and humm at checkout, subject to approval.
