Kids' e-bikes — FAQs

Are kids' electric bikes road legal in Ireland?

No. Kids' electric balance bikes and minibikes are throttle-controlled, so they are not classed as pedelecs and are not for public roads, footpaths or cycle lanes. They are intended for private land, gardens and off-road tracks, with the landowner's permission.

What size bike should I get for my child?

Wheel size is the guide. The 12in Revvi suits the youngest riders from about age two, 16in and 16in Plus suit early primary ages, and 20in and 24in models suit older, more confident children. Height and confidence matter more than age alone — tell us your child's inside-leg measurement and we will match the bike.

Can I buy a kids' e-bike through the Bike to Work Scheme?

No. Bike to Work is an employee scheme for bikes used to travel to and from work, so children's bikes are not eligible. Our adult commuter e-bikes are.

Are they safe for beginners?

Yes, when set up correctly. Every bike here has selectable speed modes so you can lock it to the slowest setting while your child learns, and the Revvi models freewheel, meaning they can be ridden as an ordinary push balance bike before the power is ever switched on. Always use a helmet and protective gear.

Where can I see a kids' e-bike in Ireland?

At our Dublin showroom, Unit 19B, Fashion City, Dublin 24 (D24 YT68).

Do you deliver kids' e-bikes across Ireland?

Yes — we deliver across Ireland and the EU, with bikes sent boxed and needing only minimal home setup. In Dublin, we can also deliver the bike fully assembled and ready to ride as a paid option — just ask.
