The ENGWE Engine Pro 3.0 Boost is a premium foldable electric fat-tyre bike built for confident commuting and adventure riding across mixed terrain. A 48V 250W EU-legal motor with a 90Nm torque sensor is paired with a high-capacity 48V 15Ah (720Wh) 21700-cell battery for smooth, powerful assistance and up to 130 km of range on pedal assist, with an 8A fast charger that refills it in about two hours. 180mm dual-piston hydraulic disc brakes, full front and rear suspension (50mm / 62mm) and 20″ × 4.0″ anti-puncture tyres combine comfort, traction and control for urban or trail use.

Built on a magnesium alloy step-through folding frame, the Engine Pro 3.0 Boost has a 3.5″ colour display, integrated lighting with a 30 Lux headlight and e-horn, and an IoT module with GPS, 4G, keyless unlocking and motion alerts through the ENGWE app. Maximum load is 150 kg, it folds to 97 × 53 × 81 cm, and it carries CE EN15194 certification by TÜV — so it is road-legal in Ireland and Cycle to Work eligible.

Available in store and online at Inner City Scooters, Dublin — delivering across Ireland and the EU.

The Best Just Got Better

Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost ridden on an all-terrain gravel trail

The Ultimate All-Terrain Commando

The Engine Pro has been Engwe's flagship folder for years. The 3.0 Boost adds the Boost motor, a torque sensor, a magnesium frame, an IoT anti-theft module and 8A fast charging — the biggest single upgrade the platform has had.

Stronger Boost Than Ever

Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost climbing with 90Nm of boost torque

90Nm of Torque, Within the EU Limits

Ninety newton metres is mid-drive territory from a hub motor, and it shows on gradients and on loaded starts. The rated output stays at 250W and assistance still stops at 25 km/h — the Boost changes how hard it pulls, not how fast you go.

The drivetrain, in numbers

  • Motor 48V hub motor, 250W rated (EU legal)
  • Torque 90Nm peak in Boost mode
  • Sensor Torque sensor — assistance matched to your pedalling effort
  • Assist 5 levels, selectable from the 3.5" colour display
  • Gears Shimano Tourney 7-speed, 14–28T cassette, 48T chainring
  • Cut-off Assistance stops at 25 km/h, as required in Ireland and the EU

Full Suspension, Both Ends

Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost in use across trails, forests and city

50mm Front, 62mm Rear

A one-piece die-cast aluminium hydraulic fork with adjustable lockout up front, 62mm of rear travel behind. The 3.0 adds bearings at the suspension connection points, which removes the stiction the previous version had and makes the rear end noticeably more supple over small bumps.

Faster and Further

Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost 720Wh battery with 2 hour 8A fast charging

Two Hours to Full

The 48V 15Ah (720Wh) pack uses 21700 cells with BMS protection and comes with an 8A fast charger as standard. Two hours from empty — have lunch and it is done. The battery lifts out for charging indoors.

Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost 130km real-world range on varied terrain

130 km Real-World Range

Engwe's own figures are 130 km at PAS 1, 108 km at PAS 3 and 80 km at PAS 5 — tested at 75 kg rider weight and 25°C on flat road. Even at the top assist level that is a full day out.

Smarter Than Ever

The IoT module — what it actually does

  • GPS tracking — see where the bike is from the ENGWE app, anywhere
  • 4G connectivity — it reports in without needing your phone nearby
  • Motion detection alerts — get notified if it is moved while parked
  • Keyless unlocking — the bike unlocks as you approach with your phone
  • Bluetooth — for close-range pairing and settings
  • OTA updates — new features arrive wirelessly over the bike's life

Display and Battery

3.5" TFT Colour Display

Mid-position, ENGWE-designed, with sharper visuals and easier navigation than the LCD on the previous Engine Pro.

Removable 720Wh Battery

Integrated into the frame and lockable, but lifts out so you can charge indoors — useful if you park in a shed or on the street.

Built for Mixed Terrain

Tarmac, cycle routes, gravel paths, sand, grass and paved trails — the fat tyres and full suspension cover all of it.

It's All In the Details

Compact Foldability

Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost foldable frame and folding stem

Folds to 97 × 53 × 81 cm

Frame and stem both fold, and the step-through magnesium frame makes the whole thing easier to handle than the aluminium version it replaces. At 34.7 kg it is a heavy bike — plan on rolling it into a boot rather than carrying it upstairs.

FAQ about the Engwe Engine Pro 3.0 Boost

Is the Engine Pro 3.0 Boost road-legal in Ireland?
Yes. The motor is rated at 250W, assistance is torque-sensor controlled and cuts off at 25 km/h, and the bike carries CE EN15194 certification by TÜV — so in Ireland it is treated like a bicycle, with no tax, insurance or licence required. The 90Nm figure is peak torque, not power output: the Boost changes how hard it pulls, not how fast it goes.
Is it eligible for the Cycle to Work scheme?
Yes. As a CE EN15194 pedelec it qualifies for Ireland's Cycle to Work / Bike to Work scheme, so you can buy it through your employer from gross salary. The scheme's e-bike limit is €3,000, so the full price is covered. Ask your employer to set the purchase up with us and we will issue the invoice they need.
How does the 3.0 Boost differ from the Engine Pro 2.0?
Quite a lot. The 3.0 Boost adds the Boost motor at 90Nm (up from 55Nm), a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor, a magnesium alloy step-through frame, a 720Wh battery with 8A fast charging (two hours instead of five and a half), 180mm hydraulic discs, a 3.5" colour display and the IoT anti-theft module with GPS. It is a different bike rather than a refresh.
What does the GPS anti-theft actually do?
The IoT module has its own 4G connection, so the bike reports its location to the ENGWE app without needing your phone nearby. You get GPS tracking, motion-detection alerts if it is moved while parked, and keyless unlocking as you walk up to it. It is not a substitute for a good lock, but it means a stolen bike is traceable.
What range will I get in Irish conditions?
Engwe's figures are 130 km at PAS 1, 108 km at PAS 3 and 80 km at PAS 5, tested at 75 kg rider weight and 25°C on flat road. Irish hills, wind, rain and winter cold will reduce that, so plan on roughly 60–100 km depending on assist level. The 720Wh battery is large, so even the pessimistic end is a long day.
How heavy is it, and does it fold?
34.7 kg, and it folds to 97 × 53 × 81 cm — frame and stem both fold. That fits a decent car boot, but be realistic: at 34.7 kg this is a bike you roll into a boot with the tailgate down, not one you carry upstairs. If you need something liftable, look at the Zip or the L20 3.0 Boost.
Will it fit my height, and how much can it carry?
Engwe rates it for riders from 165 cm to 190 cm, with a 68 cm standover, a 10-level adjustable seat post giving 85–104 cm saddle height and an adjustable handlebar between 120 and 133 cm. Maximum total load is 150 kg including rider and cargo.
Can I ride it in the rain, and can you service it in Dublin?
Yes. It is rated IPX7 on the wiring, IPX6 on the display and lights and IPX5 on the motor, controller and battery box, so it handles Irish weather. Don't submerge it or jet-wash it. Our Dublin workshop services and repairs Engwe e-bikes and stocks common spare parts, and instalment options are available at checkout.
