A cargo bike that actually carries
Most cargo bikes trade speed and range for load capacity. The Romeo Pro II does not. The 52V dual 250W all-wheel-drive system puts a brushless hub motor in each wheel, combining for 240Nm of torque — 2 x 120Nm — so a fully loaded bike still pulls away cleanly from lights and climbs 25° to 45° gradients without stalling. Each motor stays within the EU's 250W continuous rated power limit, and assistance cuts off at 25km/h as required for pedelec classification. The high-carbon steel frame and 26" x 4.0" fat tyres carry up to 150kg of rider plus cargo.
What range will you actually get?
Eahora quotes up to 167km on throttle alone and up to 321km with pedal assist. Those are best-case laboratory figures — light rider, flat ground, single motor, no wind. Here is what to expect in real Irish conditions on throttle only, based on the 3165Wh pack.

The honest working number is around 100km on throttle alone, and meaningfully more once you pedal. Fat tyres, a 68.4kg bike and running both motors are the three biggest factors, and cold weather costs another 15–25% below about 5°C.
Cargo setup — what it carries and how
The Romeo Pro II is supplied as a platform you configure for the job. Rack and basket options mount directly to the reinforced rear frame.
52V dual 250W AWD
Two brushless hub motors, one front and one rear, each rated 250W and IPX6 sealed. Combined torque is 240Nm (2 x 120Nm max). A handlebar switch lets you run front, rear or both motors to balance grip against range.
52V 3165Wh battery
Grade A lithium-ion pouch cells rated at 3,165 watt-hours. Expect around 100km on throttle alone in mixed Irish conditions, and considerably more with pedal assist. Lifespan is at least 1,200 charge cycles to 80% capacity, and the 58.8V 7A quick charger refills it in 6 to 7.5 hours.
4-piston hydraulic brakes
240mm x 3.0mm steel rotors front and rear with 4-piston calipers and semi-metallic pads, plus automatic motor cutoff on brake application. Essential stopping power for a loaded cargo bike on wet Irish roads.
Full air suspension
Adjustable air front fork with 100mm of travel and a damped air rear shock with 50mm travel. Both keep the fat tyres planted and take the sting out of potholes and kerbs when carrying weight.
4" colour LCD dashboard
Bluetooth-connected colour display with motor switching, USB charge port, speed, battery level and trip data. Cruise control and 6km/h walk assist are built in for slow manoeuvring with a full load.
2,000 lumen lighting
A 20W LED headlight rated at 2,000 lumens with a built-in electric horn, an LED tail light with integrated brake blinker, and reflectors on pedals, spokes and tyres. Built for dark winter commutes.
Shimano 7-speed
Shimano RD-TY300 rear derailleur with a 14-28T freewheel and 44T chainring, driven by a 170mm aluminium crankset. Five levels of cadence-sensor pedal assist and a five-level twist throttle with a deliberately delayed response for safety.

FAQ about the Eahora Romeo Pro II 2026 Cargo E-Bike
What range will I actually get on throttle only?
Around 100km is the honest working figure. An 80kg rider on flat urban roads with one motor will see 110 to 125km; a typical mixed commute with hills gives 90 to 100km; both motors with a moderate load and a headwind drops it to 75 to 85km; and a full 150kg load on a hilly winter route gives 60 to 70km. Eahora's 112 to 167km claim is a best-case test figure.
Is the Romeo Pro II road legal in Ireland?
Each of its two motors is rated 250W and assistance cuts off at 25km/h, which is the EU pedelec (EPAC) standard. Ridden in pedal assist it is treated like a bicycle in Ireland, with no tax, insurance or licence required. The twist throttle is a legal grey area on public roads, so we recommend pedal assist on the road and throttle use on private land only.
How much can it carry?
Maximum load is 150kg including the rider, which is what makes it a genuine cargo bike rather than a fat-tyre commuter. An optional rear rack and rear cargo basket mount to the reinforced rear frame, and the long motorcycle-style seat gives you a platform for bulky loads or a passenger.
What colours does it come in?
Three: Black, Grey and Green. All three are the identical bike with the same 52V dual 250W motor system, the same battery and the same components. There is no battery or motor option to choose, so pick on looks alone.
Why does it have two motors?
All-wheel drive gives you traction on wet tarmac, gravel and loose ground, and the combined 240Nm of torque means a fully loaded bike still pulls away cleanly on a hill start. You can switch between front, rear or both motors from the display to trade grip against range — running one motor rather than two is the single easiest way to extend your range.
Can I ride it in the rain?
Yes. The frame, motors and electronics are IPX6 rated, so heavy rain is not an issue for year-round Irish commuting. Avoid pressure washing the motors, battery contacts and connectors directly, and dry the chain after wet rides.
Does it qualify for the Bike to Work scheme?
E-bikes are eligible under the Bike to Work scheme up to a limit of €1,500, so the Romeo Pro II sits above that threshold and only part of the cost could be covered. Talk to us and we will walk you through how the scheme applies and what your employer needs.
